Contrary to common misconception, the ring is by far and away the key to a great harness for camera, especially for camera harness hiking abilities. Why? Because it actually allows for so many more options. A ring in the back of the harness lets the straps transfer from being put on two shoulders to one and vice versa. This means the harness in question can be used as a harness over two shoulders, a single shoulder solution or even a regular neck strap. Genius! The leather patch looks nice and is fairly common to see; however, it’s not nearly as great for adjusting the straps for an SLR camera which is why the ring is indeed the key for a great harness for camera.
