What Makes Cool Camera Straps “Cool”?
What puts the “cool” into cool camera straps? I mean, the word is slang to begin with. That makes it already difficult to pinpoint. But then, when you’re talking about something as seemingly insignificant as camera straps, you have to wonder what would make them cool. I mean, what would you have to see to look over at your friends’ camera straps and call them cool?
I would have to see something that I wanted, first of all. If it’s something I want, then it’s worthy of being called ‘cool’. So what would I want out of camera straps, anyway? Well, I’d want them to be comfortable. I’d want them to be adjustable. I’d want them to look sleek. I’d want them to be inexpensive and guaranteed. I guess I’d want the best. The most important thing is they’d have to be a harness system of sorts so they didn’t hurt my neck.
There are several chest camera harness options out there in the world today. Many of these options have some of the components listed above but not all of them. Those would never do. Do not settle for less than cool camera straps that do all of the amazing things they were meant to do. That will make them cool and that will help you to be cool, too, since you will have the best equipment you possibly can for your camera in the great outdoors. I mean, what’s cooler than having the best equipment? Hard to say. Hard to say.
Does a Chest Camera Harness Work for Women?
It’s an awkward subject. But it needs to be answered. There are so many female photographers that would absolutely love to have a chest camera harness… barring that it actually works for them. It’s a valid question as to whether or not women can actually use such a device. Luckily, they can.
It actually straps more around the sides of the chest than actually on the chest. And the camera hangs lower by the belly than on the chest as well. The term, ‘chest camera harness’ is something that simply is used to differentiate a harness from a generic neck strap. The main difference that should be illustrated is that one doesn’t hang on the neck while the other option does.
As you will note in the picture above, it works very well for women as well as for men. That’s the beauty of this ingenious little device. It solves two problems in one, not only for men but for women as well. Just think. You could go anywhere, hands free. No more neck pain. More importantly, no additional chest pain. A camera strap harness is something that was designed to avoid the neck at all costs. After all, the neck was not made to support any matter of weight. When it is forced to support weight, it ends up getting sore. A camera neck strap, though, was made to hang specifically on the neck which is a lazy solution to carrying a camera around hands free.
So which is better? A camera strap is a very simple device so it is easily found for a relatively cheap price tag. That’s a pro in this down economy for sure. Thta is about the only pro, unfortunately, that can be offered on behalf of this device. The camera harness is something instead that was built to give a good solution instead of to create more problems. Most people would gladly pay a few extra dollars all in the effort to avoid any pain. The harness does that and it does so for a reasonable price.
For the most part, those who are serious about avoiding neck pain and having their cameras on them all the time are those who would indeed enjoy a camera harness. Camera straps remain the most likely option for novices since they clearly do not know all the pros they are missing out on with the harness option.

How to Test a Camera Harness Strap
It’s hard to know if you should buy something without testing it out first. I mean, if you can’t test it, how will you know enough to make an informed buying decision? Since that is the case, it’s a good idea to test EVERYTHING before you make a purchase. In the case of a camera harness strap, it’s fairly easy to get this done.
First, be sure to find a harness for cameras that provides a guarantee. That way, if you don’t like it, you can return it. Second, try it on and fit your camera to it. It will fit differently when the camera is on than when the camera is off. it’s important, therefore, to try it both ways. This will give you more of a feel for how it will really look and feel when you purchase the camera strapping device. Once the camera harness strap has been tried on with and without a camera, it’s time to give it a real test.
The real test consists of jerking it around, tugging on it and pulling it in every direction. This should give you a feel for the flexibility and durability of the camera harness straps. The more you tug and pull, the better you will know what to expect. Try not to make a decision until you have done all of this so that you will really have solid test results to base your buying decision upon. That way, you will know enough to even write a camera harness review if you want to.
How Can a Camera Chest Harness Benefit You?
There are several benefits to a camera chest harness. For instance, it is a system that is made completely for your comfort, convenience and the safety of your beloved camera? Need I say more? I think we would all agree that I don’t need to say more but I’m going to anyway. You see, a benefit that is not often mentioned is that by having such a strapping system, you are guaranteed to have your camera with you at arms length any time you may need it. It would take about three seconds to go from completely unaware of a need to take a picture and having snapped a picture all thanks to a camera chest harness.
You may be confused at the terminology of a camera chest harness as opposed to a camera body harness. They are, in fact, one and the same. They are referred to with these slightly different names only because some people have learned different names for the strapping system in question.
Another benefit of the camera chest harness is that it is completely adjustable so that someone could loan it to someone else and no matter what their differences in sizes would be, it would work for both of them. This means it can be adjusted to fit over heavy coats or light t-shirts. Given that type of flexibility, it is hard to say how the camera chest harness isn’t a wonderful benefit for everyone.
I Found Some Cool Camera Straps
There are definitely some cool camera straps that should be advertised to all the geeks like me who love their cameras. I mean, think about how many photographers out there are dealing with crappy camera straps when they could actually use these ones that solve all their camera strap worries. OK, it just occurred to me that you may not know exactly what I’m talking about at this point. Let me back up…
What would make cool camera straps actually cool? Well, in my opinion it would be a couple of different things. First, they would have to be adjustable. I mean, that right there is a big deal to any photographer. They would also have to be comfortable, though, which is THE biggest deal to any photographer. And well, it’s not often that you find cool camera straps that are actually comfortable. But guess what? I did.
These straps are cool because there are two and they are designed to fit around either shoulder instead of on the neck. (Wow!) Yeah. That’s what I said. Check out this picture of the camera strap that shows exactly what I’m talking about.
It pretty much does everything you might ever need it to do. It is comfortable, adjustable, durable and keeps the camera exactly where you need it at all times – hands free. That sounds like some pretty cool camera straps to me. So there you have it. Those are the cool camera straps I was so excited to show you.

Well, a camera harness is pretty dang appealing because as you can see, it takes all the weight off your neck. This is highly appealing because this means – yep, you guessed it – no more neck pain! Camera harness = 1; Camera strap = 0.
