Camera Harness Review Tips to Look For
It’s important to understand the best way to read a camera harness review. Those who purchase their camera straps online will be heavily relying upon online reviews to make their decision. A purchase decision has everything to do with research. Understanding the best way to research online reviews will indeed ensure that the best harness will be chosen. So what are some review tips to look for?
Look for Specifics
One great tip for reading any camera harness review is to look for specifics. Did they take the camera harness hiking? Did they mention how long they’ve used it? Specifically what did they like or dislike? General reviews are more likely to be fake and they also are not going to help with making any decisions.
Look at the Source
It’s tempting for many companies to come up with their own success stories or reviews. It’s essential to look at the source of the reviews and then take them with a grain of salt. If the reviews are from the place that sells the camera harnesses in the first place, then that’s not lending much credibility. If the reviews are on a third party website, there should be quite a bit more credibility there.
There are several tips that can be used to select the best camera harness to purchase. Those who know how to read reviews are those who will end up making the best purchase decision possible.
Camera Harness: The Proper Way to Use It
A camera harness comes pretty dang close to the title of “man’s best friend” in the wild. (Of course, no person or thing could really take the place of the dogs we love, right?) Still. A camera chest harness comes pretty close. Those who don’t agree either haven’t tried it yet or they have been using it wrong for the entire time they’ve had it. It can be used wrong and if that is the case, it’s important to use it the proper way in order to enjoy it in all of its glory and eliminate neck pain.
So what can you do to enjoy it properly? The main thing to worry about is the fit. If a camera harness is fitted wrong, it’s all down-hill from there. It needs to be fitted just right in order to ensure complete comfort and satisfaction. After all, that is the main reason for getting a harness for cameras – the comfort.
So how should the camera harness be fitted?
- Adjust the straps to be just snug enough to fit two fingers in-between them and the body
- Any looser and the equipment will tug as it sways
- Any tighter and it may cut off circulation
- The clips that attach to the equipment should be loosened so it can be brought up to eye-level without being attached
- It should be used only for binoculars or cameras.
Many are surprised to find that a harness for cameras can actually be used for binoculars, too. It’s best, though, not to use it for anything else. It was designed for use specifically to hold equipment such as those and is best when used what it was intended for. Those who know the proper way to use their camera harness are those who will definitely get the most out of it.
Camera Chest Harness: Does it Work for Women?
There are several female photographers out there. They have need for the use of a camera chest harness just as male photographers do. Yet, because of they are women, they often believe they are not capable of wearing a chest harness accessory for cameras. This is a common misconception that should be corrected right away. Female photographers can absolutely wear a harness around the chest just as male photographers can.

Not only does the camera chest harness work for women but it works wonderfully well. There is no extreme discomfort given the accommodating shape and design of the straps. They are set out wide on the shoulders so as to avoid the front of the chest. They also make it seem that the equipment is much lighter than it really is by spreading out the weight. Thanks to its unique design and efficient function, the camera body harness is a friend to all photographers, regardless of their gender.
Do not be fooled into thinking, though, that they do not work for all ages. Some believe that it only works for those who are in their middle ages of 20′s, 30′s and 40′s. The wonderful thing about the camera chest harness is the fact that it works for children and the elderly just as well as it works for the middle ages. It is truly universal in absolutely every way. It is designed to work great for every person, every gender and even every size. One could be obese or underweight and they would still be able to adjust the straps so that it would work well for them. Indeed, the camera chest harness is a strapping system that would truly work for all.
What Makes Cool Camera Straps “Cool”?
What puts the “cool” into cool camera straps? I mean, the word is slang to begin with. That makes it already difficult to pinpoint. But then, when you’re talking about something as seemingly insignificant as camera straps, you have to wonder what would make them cool. I mean, what would you have to see to look over at your friends’ camera straps and call them cool?
I would have to see something that I wanted, first of all. If it’s something I want, then it’s worthy of being called ‘cool’. So what would I want out of camera straps, anyway? Well, I’d want them to be comfortable. I’d want them to be adjustable. I’d want them to look sleek. I’d want them to be inexpensive and guaranteed. I guess I’d want the best. The most important thing is they’d have to be a harness system of sorts so they didn’t hurt my neck.
There are several chest camera harness options out there in the world today. Many of these options have some of the components listed above but not all of them. Those would never do. Do not settle for less than cool camera straps that do all of the amazing things they were meant to do. That will make them cool and that will help you to be cool, too, since you will have the best equipment you possibly can for your camera in the great outdoors. I mean, what’s cooler than having the best equipment? Hard to say. Hard to say.
Does a Chest Camera Harness Work for Women?
It’s an awkward subject. But it needs to be answered. There are so many female photographers that would absolutely love to have a chest camera harness… barring that it actually works for them. It’s a valid question as to whether or not women can actually use such a device. Luckily, they can.
It actually straps more around the sides of the chest than actually on the chest. And the camera hangs lower by the belly than on the chest as well. The term, ‘chest camera harness’ is something that simply is used to differentiate a harness from a generic neck strap. The main difference that should be illustrated is that one doesn’t hang on the neck while the other option does.
As you will note in the picture above, it works very well for women as well as for men. That’s the beauty of this ingenious little device. It solves two problems in one, not only for men but for women as well. Just think. You could go anywhere, hands free. No more neck pain. More importantly, no additional chest pain. It’s all in the way this strapping system comes together to combine the strength of the back, shoulders and chest so that you barely feel a single thing. Camera straps have never felt so good.
In addition to a chest camera harness working for women as well as for men, they also can work for children. Not very small children, mind you, but younger teenagers can benefit from such a strapping device. Thanks to its adjustable straps, it can fit very short people or even very wide people. People of many ages and sizes would indeed benefit from such a device.
Camera Straps: What to Look For
It’s important to know what to look for in a camera strap. They are not all the same and in fact, there are some tell tale signs that some are better than others. If you know what to look for, you can save yourself a lot of time, money and annoyance. Not to mention pain. They say, “no pain, no gain”, however I don’t believe that to be correct. So what should you look for in your camera straps?
1. Look to see if they are adjustable. If you can adjust them, that’s a great start. Nothing is worse than a camera harness that doesn’t fit you just right. The fit is everything which is why the camera straps absolutely must be adjustable.
2. Look to see if the design is such that it hangs on your neck. Your neck was not made to carry any extra weight. A camera, although it is small, still ends up with the potential of feeling like a hundred pounds when placed on your fragile neck. A good set of camera straps, therefore, would avoid the neck by strapping over the shoulders instead. The shoulders can handle a lot of weight which is why this is the most preferable design.
3. Look for a guarantee. Products with a guarantee are products that should be strong. They pose no risk and are worth betting your money on. Products without guarantees, though, are not nearly as reliable and may cost less upfront but will cost more in the long run because they will have to be continually replaced.
How the Camera Harness System Works
A camera harness system looks relatively complex when it is all bunched up into a ball. It’s a series of straps and tangles that looks very difficult to figure out. Luckily, it’s not as complex as it looks and can be figured out really quite simply. You see, the ring that connects both straps together is supposed to be in the middle upper center of the back. The straps should come around either side to either shoulder coming up over the shoulder and then down under the arm to meet in the center of the chest. Your camera harness strap should then attach to your camera on the chest making it a camera chest harness.
This system works well because it keeps the equipment safe and sound. It also works well because it keeps the equipment right at the fingertips. After all, what good is a camera if it’s not at the fingertips? A camera harness system is something that can manage to put it at the fingertips without making you hold onto it at all times. This is incredibly useful for photographers, hikers, bird watchers and even hunters. It doesn’t matter if you’re a professional or if you’re a mother hoping to get some snapshots of your child. A camera harness system works well and easily and can do what you need for it to do.
How to Test a Camera Harness Strap
It’s hard to know if you should buy something without testing it out first. I mean, if you can’t test it, how will you know enough to make an informed buying decision? Since that is the case, it’s a good idea to test EVERYTHING before you make a purchase. In the case of a camera harness strap, it’s fairly easy to get this done.
First, be sure to find a harness for cameras that provides a guarantee. That way, if you don’t like it, you can return it. Second, try it on and fit your camera to it. It will fit differently when the camera is on than when the camera is off. it’s important, therefore, to try it both ways. This will give you more of a feel for how it will really look and feel when you purchase the camera strapping device. Once the camera harness strap has been tried on with and without a camera, it’s time to give it a real test.
The real test consists of jerking it around, tugging on it and pulling it in every direction. This should give you a feel for the flexibility and durability of the camera harness straps. The more you tug and pull, the better you will know what to expect. Try not to make a decision until you have done all of this so that you will really have solid test results to base your buying decision upon. That way, you will know enough to even write a camera harness review if you want to.
Camera Harness Review How To
If you’re going to give a camera harness review, it’s only fair to learn how to do it properly. I mean, who wants to read a review that doesn’t even make sense? Also, who wants to read a review that’s an obvious fake? Many people take the approach of writing reviews simply to pitch their own product. This is not good. It gives the customer a biased view which is, after all, not the point of a review for a camera harness. So what’s the real how to on something like this?
First, be sure to gather lots of information from lots of different resources. The more variety of information and resources, the better the comparisons will be. Next, give all the details. Don’t leave anything out. People are reading a camera harness review how to because they want to truly know how to do it. That means there should be no cutting corners by leaving out useful information. Even if information seems useless to you, it might be considered useful to someone else. Always bare that in mind.
Lastly, depict every possible scenario. What is the camera harness like when you are sitting or standing? Does it provide any flexibility? Would you take your camera harness hiking or would you only use it indoors? Be specific. The more specific you are, the better of people will feel about reading your camera harness review.
I Found Some Cool Camera Straps
There are definitely some cool camera straps that should be advertised to all the geeks like me who love their cameras. I mean, think about how many photographers out there are dealing with crappy camera straps when they could actually use these ones that solve all their camera strap worries. OK, it just occurred to me that you may not know exactly what I’m talking about at this point. Let me back up…
What would make cool camera straps actually cool? Well, in my opinion it would be a couple of different things. First, they would have to be adjustable. I mean, that right there is a big deal to any photographer. They would also have to be comfortable, though, which is THE biggest deal to any photographer. And well, it’s not often that you find cool camera straps that are actually comfortable. But guess what? I did.
These straps are cool because there are two and they are designed to fit around either shoulder instead of on the neck. (Wow!) Yeah. That’s what I said. Check out this picture of the camera strap that shows exactly what I’m talking about.
It pretty much does everything you might ever need it to do. It is comfortable, adjustable, durable and keeps the camera exactly where you need it at all times – hands free. That sounds like some pretty cool camera straps to me. So there you have it. Those are the cool camera straps I was so excited to show you.
