Camera Harness System: Is There Such a Thing?
Oh please. Of course there is! Sure, it sounds weird to hear someone say a ‘camera harness system’. But the thing really exists and the thing really is a system!
So what’s the difference between a camera harness system and a camera strap? Well, there are plenty of differences my friends. A strap is a single piece of material that hangs across the neck. That’s right; I said it hangs across the neck, people! This means it’s a one-dimensional neck-ache. I know it’s harsh, but I stand by that comment.
A camera harness system, though, is complex, multi-faceted and multi-dimensional. A camera harness system is a system that is completely different from a neck strap because it does not even touch the neck. The weight of the camera is no where even near the neck! (Ok, the weight rests on the shoulders which are close to the neck, but that’s not the point…)
The point is that with an advanced system for carrying a harness, you can actually spread the weight of the SLR camera out over the shoulders, chest and back which will make the harness and the equipment feel nearly weightless.
Another perk of the camera harness system is the fact that it keeps the equipment much safer than a simple strap for harnesses. Since it is connected on either side and closer to the chest, it prevents the equipment from swinging about from place to place. This means there are less chances of the equipment swinging out and hitting things. You might say that would be the best camera strap ever!
So to answer the question posed by the title of this article, yes. Yes, there is a camera harness system and it’s very different from the generic strap we’ve seen so many times before. Take a look at the home page to get a glimpse of what I’ve been talking about and enjoy!
