I Found Some Cool Camera Straps

There are definitely some cool camera straps that should be advertised to all the geeks like me who love their cameras. I mean, think about how many photographers out there are dealing with crappy camera straps when they could actually use these ones that solve all their camera strap worries. OK, it just occurred to me that you may not know exactly what I’m talking about at this point. Let me back up…

What would make cool camera straps actually cool? Well, in my opinion it would be a couple of different things. First, they would have to be adjustable. I mean, that right there is a big deal to any photographer. They would also have to be comfortable, though, which is THE biggest deal to any photographer. And well, it’s not often that you find cool camera straps that are actually comfortable. But guess what? I did.

These straps are cool because there are two and they are designed to fit around either shoulder instead of on the neck. (Wow!) Yeah. That’s what I said. Check out this picture of the camera strap that shows exactly what I’m talking about.

It pretty much does everything you might ever need it to do. It is comfortable, adjustable, durable and keeps the camera exactly where you need it at all times – hands free. That sounds like some pretty cool camera straps to me. So there you have it. Those are the cool camera straps I was so excited to show you.

Camera Strap VS. Camera Harness

Let the showdown begin!

It’s the camera strap vs. the camera harness. Which is better? Why?

Well, a camera harness is pretty dang appealing because as you can see, it takes all the weight off your neck. This is highly appealing because this means – yep, you guessed it – no more neck pain! Camera harness = 1; Camera strap = 0.

The Camera Harness Takes Weight Off Your Neck

Ok, so a good point was made on behalf of the harness; however, there is much to be said for the strap as well. For instance – sometimes you want to wear layers while carrying your camera around, right? Sometimes you want to be able to take it off completely in a very big hurry, right? What better way to do that than with camera straps? Camera harness = 1; Camera strap = 1.

The One-Shoulder Camera Strap is Quick and Easy

We’re tied, neck and neck. This is a tough one. I guess the only solution is if you could purchase such an item as to provide both options. What? That’s crazy talk. Or is it? Introducing MyCameraHarness – it’s both a harness and a strap! You’d better believe it.

The adjustable ring (Shown Below) provides the option to change your harness into a one sided shoulder strap for your camera with only a few seconds worth of adjustments! Eureka!

The Ring Allows for Easy Transformation from One Shoulder to Two!

I guess we’ll never know which one wins over the other when anyone who wants to can end up with both in one accessory. Genius.

Camera Straps: A Look at the Essential Extras for Your Camera

If you’re serious about your camera, you’d better be serious about your essential extras. What good is a camera without its accessories, after all? Probably the most important accessory that you or anyone could ever hope to get in their camera would be camera straps. These straps will do a world of different things for you.

For instance, these straps will help to keep your precious and beloved equipment safe. Well, that right there is good enough reason to get your essential camera straps. How could it get any better than that? Oh trust me, it really does. Not only will the straps for your camera keep your equipment safe but it will also make it much easier to access when you need to take a quick picture.

Your camera will literally be at your fingertips, ready to bring up to eye level. You won’t miss another Kodak moment with your handy camera straps around to back you up.

Neck pain, you might be thinking? No such thing with the type of camera straps we’re talking about. We’re talking about two straps that are attached together to form a camera harness. This little baby literally takes all teh weight off the neck in order to save you from any potential neckpain. Instead, you end up with equal weight across your shoulders and over your back so that you barely feel your equipment at all! Now that’s what I call miracle camera straps. But wait… there’s more…

Some camera straps can be used as both a binocular camera harness, too! This means they can attach to either binoculars or cameras. Eureka!

Binocular Camera Harness: What Is It?

Harness for Binoculars and Cameras

This sounds strange. I mean, a binocular camera harness? What is that all about? I’ll tell you. It’s about a strapping device that can be used to carry not just a set of binoculars and not just an SLR camera, but it can actually carry either! Amazing, isn’t it?

It works because it has clips on either side of it that can attach or detach easily to metal rings that go on either your camera or set of binoculars. This is what in fact makes it a binocular camera harness. Not all harnesses are made like this. Many of them are only designed to carry one or the other. That’s why before you purchase a harness, you ought to make sure it’s a binocular camera harness.

Harness for Cameras and Binoculars

These all look relatively similar so the best way to know if you’re getting what you want is to ask. It should look just like any normal camera chest harness and it should be available online if not in stores. You can use this strapping system for when you take family pictures, go on hikes, go camping, go hunting, go bird watching, or are even just walking around with your kids. Every parent wishes they had a camera handy more often and the binocular camera harness is a great way to make sure that happens.

How Does a Camera Chest Harness Work?

This might sound like a stupid question to some but many people for the life of them cannot figure out how a camera chest harness works. It’s a simple device and yet complicated to those who have never heard of one or used one before. So, let’s get to it. After all, if you can read about it online, it saves you from asking a “stupid question” to those you know and would be embarrassed to ask.

A camera chest harness has the ability to hold your camera close to your chest for a variety of reasons:

1.  This camera harness allows you to carry it hands free.

2. It keeps the camera at arms length for quick and easy access.

3.  It keeps your equipment safe.

So how does it work? You simply hold the harness out in front of you. Now swing it around you as though it were a backpack or a coat. Slip it over one arm and then the other. Now the straps should be on either shoulder and the ring should be in the center of your back. There should be two clips on either side of your body. These clips will attach to either side of your camera onto your camera chest harness. This is what allows your camera to be held safely and securely while still having ease for getting it off.

One does not have to take their camera off in order to use it, either. Simply adjust the adjustable straps so that you can bring the camera up as far as eye level on your camera chest harness. When you do that, you can simply move it up and down without detaching it and having to hold it. And that, my friends, is exactly how your camera chest harness is supposed to work.

What Are You Missing in Your Camera Harness?

There are several different types of camera harnesses out on the market today. While they all appear to be the same, they definitely are not. There are little differences here and there that can really fall short of what you might have been hoping for. For instance, something that might be missing in your camera harness is a ring in the back of the straps in place of a leather piece.

Many harnesses have leather pieces in the back that hold the two straps together. This works fine and in fact, the leather actually looks pretty nice so it all works out just fine. Fine, though, is not great and that is the point. If you’re wondering what your camera harness is missing, it might just be missing the ring in the back. Thanks to the ring, it allows for the harness to be worn over one shoulder, two shoulders like a chest camera harness or on the neck like a generic neck strap. This provides three different options one wouldn’t otherwise get with a camera harness that has a leather piece instead.

Little differences like these are indeed subtle; however, they are definitely important. Many novice camera harness purchasers are sucked into getting an item that simply doesn’t do as well as it could thanks to a few flaws in its design. There is no reason to get stuck with something you don’t like when there are so many appealing choices out on the market today. That’s why you should do your research and be sure to have a harness for your camera that you do like and has everything fit for you.

Chest Camera Harness Tips for a Good Fit

If you’ve purchased a chest camera harness, hopefully you’ve purchased one that’s adjustable. After all, every person’s proportion is different. It’s important, then to get an adjustable strap so that it can fit your proportions appropriately. If the harness you acquired does not adjust, send it back. Then get a chest camera harness that does have adjustable straps so you can make it a good fit.

Camera Hiking Harness

Tip #1

Start out with the harness for camera on both your shoulders. The circular ring should be between your shoulder blades on your back. You should have a strap coming up under the arm and circling over the shoulder with two attachment hooks on either side of the chest. This is the best way to start out.

Tip #2

Raise the camera up to eye level to measure how far you’d like your camera to be able to swing. At the same time, reduce the length on the strap so as to create tension while holding the camera at eye level. This will ensure that pictures can be taken while the camera is strapped onto the chest camera harness.

Tip #3

If tension is felt in the shoulders, the straps are too tight. There should be no tension in the shoulders. It should be as comfortable as carrying a backpack and never any tighter. Those who adjust their chest camera harness this way should have no problem when it comes to using it.
